Meet the Author

Cadence A. Stokes

Cadence A. Stokes is a young christian writer from West Plains, Missouri. At 17 years old, she published her first book, Sunset Prayers, inspired by her love for Scripture, faith, and sharing the Gospel with a personal, friendly tone.

A graduate of the Class of 2026 from Ozarks Christian Academy, Cadence plans to attend College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri, where she will pursue a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications.

Cadence also has a poem, “The Savior’s Hand,” published in a poetry anthology in the Figments series by Eber & Wein Publishing. Her senior thesis, The Borrower’s Burden: Contentment and the Consumer Debt Crisis, made the top six in the National ACCS Chrysostom Oratory Competition.

Outside of writing, Cadence enjoys music, cooking, going for walks with her best friend, and helping lead a young women's Bible study in her hometown. Sunset Prayers was born out of her passion for studying the Scriptures and encouraging others in their faith.

Sunset Prayers wasn't originally meant for the world. It began as Cadence's personal prayer journal, and gradually shifted into something written for an outside reader. After sharing a few entries with friends and family, Cadence decided to publish these fifty entries in a book.
